PFW SS15: collections that inspire

Maison Martin Margiela SS15 i P Who: Maison Martin Margiela

What: Covered and modest silhouettes with super high slits

How: At Margiela this season, the runways had slits walking all over it in multiple ways. The slit, that gives such a nice look at the legs was styled with quite modest silhouettes with high necklines and long sleeves. I think it’s such a nice contrast to use the high slits with the covered looks and I am super inspired to go get myself a high slit skirt and wear it with a high neck sweater or blouse – and still keep the feminine touch – before fall gets too cold.

JC de Castelbajac SS15 i P

Who: JC de Castelbajac

What: Primary colors

How: I think most people know that I’m a sucker for bright colors. Especially primary colors that dominated the runway of JC de Castelbajac. His use of primary colors in different ways – a completely primary colored look, a look with one primary colored item and a simple look with primary colored details – makes me want to go for new primary colored styling ideas. Like a blue jacket over a red and yellow outfit or an all white look with primary colored shoes and accessories.

Acne Studios SS15 i P

Who: Acne Studios

What: Classic looks with deep V necklines

How: Both on the street style scene and on the Acne Studios runway this season, you sa a lot of skin. It was shown in quite a nice was and at the same time quite obvious but still understated way. The deep V neckline has become incredibly popular and I really would love to try it out! For years I’ve been covering the chest area up quite a bit, rather showing off my legs, tummy and arms, but this season, I’ve become inspired to try out this – to me – neck neckline. I love how the quite sexy neckline is paired with classic silhouettes like trousers and a shirt or long sleeved dresses to get the attention to the classic, power woman look, that can still show off some skin without becoming a sex symbol. I am very much on my way to a thrift hunt for deep V sweaters and coats right now!
