So, uhm, some weeks ago, I got the most awesome e-mail ever. An e-mail that make me jump around a bit more than usual and smile sillily at everyone in the street.. It was Monki, who asked me if I wanted to come by Stockholm to model for their SS14-lookbook. They booked the plane tickets and hotel for me and told me that they’ll send me a bunch of their amazing clothes as a thank you for doing the job. As you might have noticed, I didn’t say no(like that was a hard decision, duh!). I mean, Monki is pretty much me in a hughstreet-nutshell! So this Sunday I got on the plane towards Stockholm where I was lodged at an insanely cool hotel and had some time for myself to explore the city, before shooting all day Monday. The set was super cozy and there was a small portion of sweet Monki people and tons of extremely awesome clothes, which I’m not allowed to show you properly, since it wont be in the stores until next spring. I wasn’t alone in front of the camera, also, I had a sweet and gorgeous Swedish girl, Fatima, as my co-model, which was so nice – we were both new to modeling for real, so we had each other to lean on and chat with about our new experiences. Our photographer, Ruban, was also great at instructing us and making us feel safe, so I can’t imagine the photos turning out anything but amazing. Now I’m just waiting for the lookbook to come out and the clothes to go on show during press week in october, so I can see the photos and be like “heeey, that’s me!”.
I can’t say anything other than my little Stockholm trip was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. The Monki people and everyone on set were so nice to work with and my childhood dream about being a model finally came true – just a little bit(but oh my, modeling is hard!). What an amazing experience and yay for how life keeps surprising me!
