frayed edges

Something I forgot to tell you, is the fact that I started attending a sewing class. I’m right now learning to make patterns for and sew skirts, trousers, bags and all kinds of things!

My first sewing project was this frayed, asymmetic denim skirt with a wrap illusion split. I was inspired by the tons of split skirts that are everywhere at the moment and I made it in denim to make it versital, basic and timeless. To add some fun to the skirt, I decided to fray all of the edges, which also made the skirt look cooler, when the split opens up when you walk.

I really love my new, customized skirt – and I’m sorry, but I won’t make a DIY guide on how to do it. I did the pattern drawing, construction, designing and sewing from scratch, so guiding you though the process would take hours.

How do you like my new denim friend?
