life update #1: the living situation

Since a lot of things have happened in the past 6 months, I decided to do a bunch of posts under the title Life update. As in: how are things going?

Well, in this post, we’re starting with something which has given me so much more calm in my life. A place to live. It’s awesome! After having moved 5 times in 2 years, I’ve had such a need to just get a base, where I know that I don’t have to pack all my stuff and move again in 4 months.

I haven’t written too much about my new living situation since I moved almost 2 months ago now. I feel like I need to get mu stuff in place first. Since I have no move out date, I have tons of time to find the right furniture for my room and that takes some time. But I’ll give you a room tour soon of the room as it is now, and when I update my decoration, I’ll do small interior posts about that along the way.

But, well, life status on the living situation atm is as follows: I moved into a collective! As in real collective with shared food, dinner together 5 times a week, a livingroom with a party corner, discoball and a record player. Big kitchen with armchair and compost, bathroom with at least 9 plants and a washing machine.

And aside from all that physical niceness of my home, I also got 4 awesome roomies, all of them really sweet and creative. Two start-up guys, an architect and a yoga teacher-to-be. I think the biggest difference between me and them is the age – I’m the baby of the collective and the others are about 5-11 years older than me. And I’m just so happy that they chose me to come live there!

In the next life status post we’ll look at the school situation!
