I havde nok set det komme på et eller andet tidspunkt. Jeg har trukket den længe, men nu kan jeg altså ikke holde mig tilbage mere.. I SKAL bare se Mary Katrantzous fantastiske SS13-kollektion! Hold fast hvor er den virkelig sindssygt flot og velprintet, må jeg sige. Jep, Mary har jo et vidunderligt talent for at lave de dejligste prints og denne gang har hun ramt sømmet på hovedet endnu engang. Der er en super fin historie bag de flotte prints også – hun blev inspireret af gamle frimærker, hun havde samlet som barn og af pengesedler, som familiemedlemmer havde bragt med hjem fra udenlandsrejser. Jeg synes det er så dejligt, når man kender historien bag hvordan tøjet blev til og hvordan hun kom på disse skøne prints! Derudover synes jeg det er så fint at de takkede kanter på frimærkerne og vilde linjer i ptintet står i så stor kontrast til de ret skarpe og geometriske former på tøjet. Og hvilke fantastiske former, egentlig! Jeg har svært ved at vælge en favorit her – men det ville nok stå mellem look nummer et, fire, seks, ni og tretten. Sommerfuglefrimærket på look nummer fire og pengesedlerne på nummer tretten er virkelig dragende, plus de viser tydeligt inspirationskilden til printet. Ok, you might’ve seen it coming at some point. I waited for a long time, but now I can’t hold back anymore.. You HAVE to see the amazing Mary Katrantzou SS13 collection! Gosh, it’s so pretty and well printed, I must say. Mary has such an amazing talent for making the loveliest prints and yet again she hit the nail on the head. There’s also a nice story behind this print – she was inspired by old stamps that she collected as a child and old bank notes brought back by relatives from foreign travels. I really like knowing the story behind the reason the clothes turned out as it did and how she came up with the gorgeous prints! I also really like the fact that the jagged edges of the stamps and the wild lines of the print contrasts the sharp lines and geometric shapes of the clothes. And what amazing shapes, actually! I have a hard time picking my fave here – but it would probably be a competition between the first, fourth, sixth, ninth and thirteenth looks. The butterfly stamp on the fourth look and the bank note on the thirteenth one are so intriguing and they really show the original idea for the inspiration.
