This Sunday I met up with sweet Ivania, who also was in Paris for fashion week. Originally we planned to go out for a coffee and a chat, but since she was in a hurry to make it through various show rooms before leaving Paris, so she asked me if I wanted to come with her to Acne Studios’ show room in stead of coffee.. and you can’t say no to that, right? It was the first time I ever visited a show room and, oh my, that was such a pleasant experience compared to the stress of being a street style photographer – when going through collections at show rooms you son’t have to run, scream or push, which is quite nice! We were walked through the entire collection with stories about themes, techniques and ideas about how the collection was made and I really liked having the collection explained properly in stead of the not-so-detailed impressions you get of the collections, when looking though them on style.com. In the show room tables were put up for the buyers, food and drinks were served and models walked around showing off the clothes – all of this in a completely laid back atmosphere which made it possible to focus on the clothes entirely. My fave components from the Acne SS14 collection was definitely their use of leather in many different ways(like this awesome jacket) and the fact that the prints on the clothes are madre from wallpaper, so that no printed item will look like any other. I also love their shoes – especially the laced rubber sandals on one of the photos above. The collection is pretty widely ranged with a sailor/punk theme and the very current 90’s connotations. I can’t show you everything here, but if you want a closer look, see the collection HERE.
Have you ever gone to a show room?
