All photos are of the exhibit “All of nature flows through us” by Marc Quinn, currently showing at KUNSTEN in Aalborg.
Wednesday this week, we had some free time in the middle of the school day and in that occasion, I lured Kathrine to come with me to the contemporary art museum in Aalborg, KUNSTEN, which is really close to our school. We came to experience the ned exhibition “All of nature flows through us” by Marc Quinn. It was very exciting and you can spend a whole lot of time admiring and exploring the pieces! There were so many elements of this exhibition that it is quite difficult to describe in short, but I’ll try: beautiful, exciting, vulgar, scary and something you don’t want to miss, if you’re interesten in contemporary art and culture. Among other things Marc Quinn has made a wax and concrete sculpture of Zombie boy, where the tattoos were carved into the wax (see him on the second to last photo in the company of Kathrine. Kathrine is the one on the left!) My faves of the exhibition were the black and white motifs with the blobs of paint, the marble figures of deformed people and then Zombie boy, since there’s so much to look at and think about. I didn’t photograph the entire exhibition, but then you can see this post as an appetizer – because if you have the possibility, then you really should experience this!
