One of the clear tendencies this season is menswear creeping into womenswear. And it does so in multiple ways: one way is with connotations to the post war times of the 30’s where women customized their husbands clothes to fit themselves – something we see clearly with the mens coats with revers, buttons and the suits for women. An other way menswear creeps into womenswear is with the thick, checkered fabrics that have taken over the runways in the shape of dresses, flowy coats and trousers.
Focus on sleeves will be a big thing this fall. One thing we can all be happy about is the layering trends in the styling of the fall collections – for this fall, we’ll all stay warm by adding the trendy twist of layering longer sleeves over shorter ones. If you want to show some skin, the sleeve is also the thing in focus here – shoulder cut outs are going to be the sexiness-factor of long sleeved, long evening dresses. Bye bye, cleavage!
