PATCHWORK
A quite cool tendency that I spotted, is something that probably would make most people think of old blankets in their summer cabins, namely: patchwork! The patchwork tendency on the Paris runways is a bit different, though. Here it’s used as a detail in color blocked items or as an extra patch to accentuate pockets or other details in the clothes. I really like the extra dimension that this patchwork technique adds to the clothes!
WOMEN IN SUITS
the strong business woman is very prominent on the runways this season, and that was quite obvious in Paris, too. The suit is on it’s way back in all shapes and colors – loose fitted cropped trousers with an oversize jacket or edgy leather suits with voluminous sleeves. An eighties like “independent woman” tendency is popular this season and like so many retrospective trends these days, it takes us back to the period from the 60s to the 90s which is formidably popular!
GREEN
Just like my other posts about tendencies from the runways, this city brings an other bright color on the boards. InNew York we saw orange and bright blues, in Milan we saw neon colors and in Paris, green has caught on! grassy green outfits like suits, huge emerald green coats and combinations of green, turquoise and blue can be spotted in every other collection. Fall will – for sure! – bring loads of green to the streets!
